Léonie Adams studied with Igor Sitnikov in Moscow, was a prize winner at the Royal College of Music and a postgraduate scholar at the Royal Academy of Music in London.

She was also awarded full scholarships to the prestigious Santander Academy to study with Natalia Gutman and Tsuyoshi Tsutsumi in 2006, and the TSMAF with Janos Starker in 2007.

Léonie was a member of the European Union Youth Orchestra and has been a concerto soloist across Europe with performances including the Schumann Concerto with the Luxembourg Philharmonia, and Bruch’s Kol Nidrei, Elgar, Dvorak and Haydn C major Concertos in the UK.

Léonie has worked as Principal with Scottish Opera, Orquesta Filarmónica de Gran Canaria, Northern Ballet, Orchestra of the Swan and the British Philharmonic Orchestra, No.2 with the Royal Opera House, English National Opera, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Opera North and the Philharmonia and No.3 with Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
She has also performed in the BBC Proms with the BBC Symphony Orchestra and London Philharmonic Orchestra, including on the prestigious First Night of the Proms. 
​Recently she performed on the RSC's "Shakespeare Live!" which was not only broadcast live on BBC2 but live into cinemas around the world.

She has also played as a soloist for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth at Buckingham Palace, recorded at Abbey Road and played with artists including Jason Donovan, Shirley Bassey and Jeff Beck. 


She has also played live on BBC Radio 3 with her quartet and the Philharmonia, and as a soloist on Radio New Zealand as part of a month long tour with pianist Michael Higgins which was sponsored by the British Council and Royal Overseas League.

Léonie was the 'cellist on the Tori Amos musical “The Light Princess” at the National Theatre in 2013-14 and deputises on Disney's "The Lion King" & Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Cinderella" in the West End.
